DE Masterworks Choir has been chosen out of 130 entries to perform at the 2020 PA Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Conference, April 23 - 25 at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos. Their performance will take place at 11am on Friday, April 24, 2020.
PMEA is an affiliate of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). The mission of the PMEA (with well over 4500 members) is to advance comprehensive and innovatiove music education for all students through quality teaching, rigorous learning, and meaningful music engagement.
The purpose of the annual All-State performance exhibition is to showcase the top performing bands, choirs, and orchestras of various age groups (K-12, collegiate, professional) to a statewide conference of music educators. Downingtown East's Choral Director, Adam Speakman notes, "It is an honor to be selected by blind recorded audition to have one of my choirs perform for an audience comprised mainly of my music educator colleagues as an exemplar of the musical standard by which we all strive for our ensembles to reach".
The Masterworks Choir will perform the entirety oftheir PMEA conference program locally for parents, relatives, and freinds of the choir as part of their regularly scheduled Spring Concert on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 7pm at Downingtown East Auditorium.
