Shamona Creek Celebrates Will Howard’s National Championship Victory

Will Howard, a proud alumnus of Downingtown Area School District, returned home to a warm celebration after leading Ohio State to victory in the National Championship game. Shamona Creek Elementary, where Will’s DASD journey began, played a key role in the festivities, which included a special police escort to his former school.
Ahead of the championship game, Shamona Creek staff and students created a heartfelt "Good Luck" video for Will, featuring messages from his former teachers, staff, and current students—showing the strong community ties that continue to support him.
Will was greeted with cheers as he passed through Shamona Creek, a full-circle moment marking his impressive achievements. His path to the National Championship began at Downingtown High School West (DHSW), where he excelled as a four-year varsity quarterback and earned several accolades, including:

Beyond football, Will also achieved an impressive milestone of 1,000 career points in basketball, showcasing his versatility as an athlete.
Reflecting on his journey, Will shared a message of gratitude with the Downingtown community. “Thank you to everyone here in Downingtown who supported me all throughout the playoffs and all throughout my entire career,” said Will in a video shoutout. “I have so much love for this town.”
The celebration at Shamona Creek highlighted the enduring pride and connection within DASD, emphasizing the district's commitment to fostering a supportive environment where students and alumni can thrive.
