On Dec. 20, 145 Downingtown STEM Academy and 72 Downingtown High School East students competed in the regional DECA competition at Albright College. Based on their performances, 150 students (103 from STEM and 47 from East) qualified for the DECA State Career Development Conference in February.
STEM students earned 24 first place awards, 18 second place awards and 18 third place awards in the regional competition. East students took home five first place awards, eight second place awards and seven third place awards.
In addition, East was awarded the DECA Achievement level for the 2022-2023 Membership Campaign based on its membership growth this year.
