Full-Day Kindergarten

As the district continues to grow and enrollment increases, the board and administration strategically evaluate options to provide robust educational opportunities, appropriate class sizes and equity across the district.

DASD currently offers half-day kindergarten to all students. Qualifying students may elect to participate in full-day kindergarten at Beaver Creek, Bradford Heights, East Ward and Lionville Elementary only. By adding full-day kindergarten at all elementary schools, it will provide all DASD kindergartners the opportunity to receive and practice additional early development skills and learning.

Full-day kindergarten would provide our youngest learners expanded learning opportunities, opportunities to learn through play, and increased time to practice and grow social and emotional skills.

Community members are invited to share their feedback with their board member.
