Upon graduating from college, I taught English at Downingtown High School for five years. I then had the opportunity to work as a writer at a local environmental engineering company and enjoyed the business world but not as much as I loved teaching. I chose to stay home with my children when they were young; when it was time for me to reenter the workforce, I accepted a position at Downingtown West High School where I taught for ten years before voluntarily transferring to STEM. While at West, I taught all ability levels of each grade and enjoyed my time there immensly. After my children graduated from West, I looked for a new challenge and found it at STEM. I received training to teach the International Baccalaureate program and instructed juniors and seniors for four years before transitioning to the Research Specialist position. Although I miss the classroom teaching side of my job, I am able to interact with students on a different level in my present position. On a personal level, I enjoy spending time at home with my family, walking my two rather bad dogs, teaching cyber school for DASD, and taking classes to complete my Ed.D. program in 2019.
