Mrs. Kathryn (Meyers) Buchovecky

Upon graduating from college, Mrs. Buchovecky taught English at Downingtown High School for five years. She then had the opportunity to work as a writer at a local environmental engineering company and enjoyed the business world, but not as much as she loved teaching. She chose to stay home with her children when they were young; when it was time to reenter the workforce, she accepted a position at Downingtown West High School where she taught for ten years before voluntarily transferring to STEM. While at West, she taught all ability levels of each grade and enjoyed her time there immensely. After her children graduated from West, she looked for a new challenge and found it at STEM. She received training to teach the International Baccalaureate program and instructed juniors and seniors for four years before transitioning to the Research Specialist position. Although she misses the classroom teaching side of her job, she is able to interact with students on a different level in her present position.

On a personal level, Mrs. Buchovecky enjoys spending time at home with her family, biking, swimming, and walking her two rather bad dogs.
