Beth is a Literacy Specialist and Literacy Coach at Pickering Valley Elementary School. She has prior teaching experience in both primary and upper elementary grades in Downingtown Area Schools as well as Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland (MCPS). In addition to elementary school, she has taught graduate literacy courses through Widener University as an adjunct instructor and Millersville University (Summer Literacy Institute).
Beyond the classroom, Beth reviews books for Multicultural Children's Book Day. She is an advisory board member of the Chester County Literacy Association Brandywine Valley Forge and has presented workshops on literacy related subjects at KSLA's annual conferences. Scholastic Reading Clubs has published several teacher guides written by Beth. Additionally, Beth participates in ARC-the Alumni Recruitment Committee- for the University of Richmond.
In her free time, Beth enjoys travelling with her family, discovering local trails, reading, biking, and doing yoga.
Our Literacy Specialists monitor and strengthen the instructional program by providing literacy related services to teachers and direct instruction in literacy to select students. Our Literacy Specialists deliver professional development and coach teachers in effective literacy strategies.
