Alyssa Sherlock

Mrs. Sherlock is the Gifted Support Teacher at the Downingtown STEM Academy, as well as Downingtown High Schools East and West. She serves as the advisor for a few student clubs, as well as the CCIU Student Forum and the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, and assists with the IB Extended Essays and CAS program. She is also involved in two Cultural Equity Teams at the high school level. In addition to the above, she maintains an ungraded enrichment "course" on Schoology, providing resources and challenge opportunities for all DASD high school students, and collaborates with teachers to create individualized unit extensions for advanced learners.

Mrs. Sherlock holds a B.S. in Secondary Education from Penn State University, and an M.S. in Educational Classroom Technology from Wilkes University. She is PRAXIS certified in Communications, English, and Gifted Education, and completed a Reading Specialist endorsement program in 2020. She has taught Language Arts in public, private, and cyber charter school settings, has taught for the Summer Institute for the Gifted at Bryn Mawr College, served as the Day Director for the Julian Krinsky Camps Enrichment Program at Villanova University, and teaches Communications/Marketing with the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's Young Scholars Program. She loves being a part of the STEM community, and greatly enjoys working with students to foster their curiosity.
