Degrees and Certifications:
Mary Beth Tomlinson
Mary Beth Tomlinson has a Bachelor’s Degree in education from West Chester University, a Master’s Degree in Instructional Systems Design from Penn State Great Valley, and most recently earned her Instructional Technology Certificate from Drexel University. She is a current member of ASCD and ISTE, and was recently awarded membership into the Educator 500 from West Chester University’s 3E Institute.
Ms. Tomlinson started at the Downingtown School District in 2006, teaching mostly elective technology classes at both East and West High Schools in the Business Department. Prior to that, she taught the same type of classes for eight years in another School District.
She has also served as the local chapter advisor for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) while teaching. Since its inception at Downingtown, our FBLA students have been recognized for their accomplishments at the local, state, and national level. Downingtown West’s chapter placed first at the state level for the largest chapter increase in 2008, and was recognized at the national level as being a Gold Seal Chapter in 2010. Also, she currently serves as the Regional Adviser, serving all 13 (soon to be 14!) chapters in Chester County.
She enjoys working with the students and staff at the STEM Academy as we prepare students for the opportunities that await them.
