Degrees and Certifications:
Kirsten Snyder is a Spanish instructor at the Downingtown STEM Academy. Before beginning at Downingtown with the opening of STEM in 2011, Señorita Snyder spent a year working as a District Interpreter and ESL Instructor followed by one year working as an 8th-grade Spanish I instructor, both in Reading (Berks County).
Kirsten graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA with a B.A. in both Spanish and Psychology. While in college, Kirsten studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain, and worked as a Spanish tutor for her college's Academic Resource Center. She graduated in 2013 from Cabrini College with her Master's of Education with a Reading Specialist Certification.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities at STEM, Señorita Snyder advises the senior class each year, and organizes the induction for the Spanish Honor Society. She also enjoys sharing her love of travel with students, and has led two student trips - a trip to France & Spain in June 2014, as well as a trip to a Global Student Leader Summit in Costa Rica in March 2015. When not at STEM, Señorita enjoys running & yoga, cooking, and watching any Philadelphia sports team play.
