Degrees and Certifications:
Bethany Deamer is a Wellness and Fitness Teacher at the Downingtown STEM Academy. She began teaching at Downingtown Middle School in 2009 and also taught at West until getting hired at STEM in 2014. Bethany’s teaching career began in 1997 at Owen J. Roberts High School where she was also the head field hockey coach, a middle school lacrosse coach, weight room supervisor, and Young Life leader. After teaching at OJR for almost 8 years Bethany made the difficult decision to take time off from teaching while beginning a family. During those years she also worked as a personal trainer, boot camp instructor and created a stroller fitness class while employed at Passion for Fitness.
Originally Bethany did not want to follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother (also PE teachers) but her passion for sport, fitness, and kids led her down the same path while attending Messiah College. This passion led her to Masters work in Exercise Physiology through West Chester University.
Outside of teaching Bethany keeps busy keeping up with her two active kids and loves watching their excitement for fitness and athletics grow. She also helps manage her rental properties, loves to work out and spend time with family and friends. Bethany is thrilled to be here at STEM!
