Athletics for Fall Season 2020
Thank you for your patience as we developed a plan for middle level fall sports. Although the middle level teams will not be participating in competitive seasons this fall, we are excited to be able to offer opportunities for our seventh and eighth grade LMS students to engage in voluntary training sessions. All levels of experience are welcome to sign up for these sessions.
Training sessions will include activities intended to primarily target tactical training, individual skills and drills with some small-sided drills. Additionally, cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength and endurance activities will be incorporated. Students will have the opportunity to engage in activities that promote physical, social, mental, and emotional health and well being, while maintaining appropriate social distancing.
In line with our high school programs, we will be following the attached Summer Workout Plan. All activities for the Fall 2020 will adhere to Phase 1 of the board approved Summer Athletics Health and Safety Plan; all activities are outdoors with appropriate social distancing measures in place. Please review the attached plan with your child.
The fall sports we offer at the middle level include:
Please visit the coach’s Schoology page of the sport your child is interested in for information regarding signing up. Coaches will be holding virtual information sessions next week. Some meetings are scheduled as early as Monday so please visit the Schoology pages over the weekend.
We ask that students sign up via the link on the coach’s Schoology page by 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 17th, if they want to participate. Until we have an opportunity to see the number of families interested, students may only sign up for one sport.
Sessions offered the following weeks:
Week 1: September 21st - September 24th
Week 2: September 28th - October 1st
Week 3: October 5th - October 8th
Week 4: October 12th - October 15th
Week 5: October 19th - October 22nd
Week 6: October 26th - October 29th
Week 7: November 2nd - November 5th
Each sport is running Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday sessions after school hours. A student will attend either on Monday/Wednesdays or Tuesday/Thursdays. Athletes will be assigned to a pod of no more than 15 athletes at the middle level. Coaches will provide more information regarding days, times, and locations.
A PIAA physical form is NOT required for these voluntary training sessions. Please fill out the attached emergency card so that coaches can have quick access to important contact and medical information for your child. The form must be given to the coach before or at the first training session..
There is no activity fee associated with this fall season.
