Mr. Darryl Darlak

     Mr. Darlak has served Downingtown Area School District as the Adapted Physical Education Teacher (K-12) since 1989. One of the longest tenured APE Teachers in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Mr. Darlak has taught special needs populations  for over 34 years in several schools throughout Chester County.  Mr. Darlak coordinates the Special Olympics program within DASD and is Co-Advisor of the Downingtown East Special Olympics Volunteer's Club, in addtion to coaching Track & Field at Downingtown Middle School.  Mr. Darlak is also active in the community, volunteering as a CYO Coach (Football & Track & Field) and CYO Board Member/Spring Athletic Director at Sts. Philip & James Church in Exton, Pa. He also teaches DASD students behind-the-wheel driver's education through Chester County Intermediate Unit #24.

     Mr. Darlak is a proud graduate of West Chester University, earning his BS Degree in Health and Physical Education (1980) and Masters of Education in Health and Physical Education (1986). Mr. Darlak has also completed Supervisory (HPE) and Dual Principalship Certifications at Penn State Univeristy.

     He is married to his wife Karen and is a father of three very active children.
