Degrees and Certifications:
BA/EnglishSecondary Education/English certification
I began working for DASD first as a middle school teacher’s aide while I was earning my secondary English certification at West Chester University and then as an English language arts teacher beginning in 2006 with a brief interlude as a substitute high school teacher at Owen J. Roberts High School. I have taught every secondary grade except 9th grade either as a Language Arts, English or Gifted teacher. Prior to becoming an educator, I worked for Penn State Great Valley for nearly 13 years as an admissions assistant, graduate enrollment assistant, and part-time evening receptionist. I graduated from Reading High School, earned an associate degree from Penn State, a bachelor’s degree in English from Temple University, a teaching certificate from West Chester, and I am one semester away from completing my master’s degree in English at West Chester. Though I have lived most of my life in Downingtown and Philadelphia, I grew up in Reading, where I began my life as a book nerd.
