Dr. Robert Reed
Rob Reed is excited to continue his career in the Downingtown Area School District as the Assistant Superintendent. His educational background includes a BSED in Biology and MA in Physical Science from West Chester University and principal's certification, Letter of Eligibility and doctorate degree from Immaculata University.
Dr. Reed began his career in the Garnet Valley School District. While at Garnet Valley, Dr. Reed was a biology and environmental science teacher, athletic coach, class sponsor, and Dean of Students. Dr. Reed came to DASD in 2003 and first served as an assistant principal at Lionville Middle School. Four years later, he was tapped as LMS's interim principal for one year before moving to Shamona Creek Elementary School as principal. He was principal for two years before accepting the Director of K-12 Educational Programs. He served in that role for five and half years before being named Assistant Superintendent in February of 2016.
In his spare time, Dr. Reed enjoys spending time with his family (wife, two sons, and a daughter), exercising, traveling, playing golf, being outdoors, learning and experiencing new things, and all Philadelphia sports teams.
