Who Do I Call?
If your child does not arrive home after school as expected, we urge parents/guardians to take the following steps:
- Call your child's school if within 1/2 hour of student dismissal
- Contact the transportation office:
610-269-8460 Ext. 11905
Phone Hours
6:30 AM to 5:30 PM
We understand that this situation can cause undue stress and worry, but we encourage parents to proceed calmly and rationally as nearly all children are located at friends' homes or taking part in after school activities. It is suggested that parents/guardians converse with their children daily about their plans for practices, visits, and other activities to ensure each student arrives home safely each day.
For items left on the bus, please check the box labeled Bus Contractors on this page and contact the appropriate bus contractor for your child’s bus. The transportation department does not have a lost-and-found. Those items left on a school bus are held at the bus contractor’s office.

School Bus Safety
Today's school bus is designed to strict federal and state regulations in order to provide the safest form of transportation in the United States. Every year each school bus used in transporting school students is subject to two (2) official PA State Inspections. In addition, the Pennsylvania State Police conduct one scheduled inspection of all buses each year, and periodically perform surprise inspections. Also, each driver is required to visually inspect his or her bus and to complete a “safety check” prior to the start of each trip.

Transportation Update
A new school year has not improved on the number of bus drivers available for our students. We are missing 28 bus drivers out of our normal 212 buses used per day. Mechanics and office staff for the bus contractors are filling in for 18 bus drivers. We eliminated 40 buses through consolidations which leaves us with packed buses and longer ride times.
If we do the math:
- We need 28 additional bus drivers
- We eliminated -40 buses with longer runs and more students per bus
- Office staff -18 from the bus companies are filling in some of the gaps.
