Understanding Parent Accounts
Parent accounts are automatically associated with the same school as their child. However, if a parent has children at multiple schools within an organization–for example, a child at a high school and a child at a middle school–the parent account is automatically associated with the school as the first child with which their account was associated.
For example, parents who sign up for Schoology using the Parent Access Code for their child in middle school are automatically associated with the middle school. They may still associate themselves with their high schooler's account from the Add Child option in the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner, but the parent accounts remain associated with the middle school as their primary school within the organization.
If parents have children at schools in different organizations–that is, their children's accounts are not all under the same Organization Enterprise account in Schoology–they must create two separate Parent accounts and link them together.
Schoology Notifications for Parents
Parents will receive Schoology updates from all buildings they are associated with based on the children that are identified as being in their care. Parents may choose what notifications they wish to receive by modifying these settings in Schoology. Keep in mind that any modifications to notification preferences apply to all buildings that are associated with the parent account.

All DASD devices, regardless of physical location (at school or home), shall have all internet activity filtered and monitored by the district. The Securly Home app for parents is a valuable tool to help keep students safer when on their school-issued devices. The parent app has the ability to block sites, like YouTube, and create schedules when the device is inaccessible to the web, like dinner time and bedtime. The app also displays a real-time view of your child’s activity on their school-issued device. Parents also receive a weekly email from Securly with a snapshot report of that week’s activity. Please review the written directions or video directions to access the parent Securly Home app. If you want to learn more about Securly’s online safety solutions, please visit www.securly.com. For additional information, please email homesupport@securly.com.

Add the following to the block list within the Securly Home app:
youtube.com
m.youtube.com
youtu.be
music.youtube.com
ytming.com
yout-ube.com
The Securly Home app and the Securly settings on each student’s device requires transparent access to Securly’s servers. If you are utilizing any of the following types of services on your home network, Securly may not function as expected.
Home content filtering
VPNs or Anonymizers

Please modify your home network configuration to not apply these settings to your student’s device.
When I’m logged into the activity feed in the Securly Home app I see data from the middle of the night, but I know my kids are asleep then. What causes this activity?
The device is checking in overnight to update apps and talk to the mobile device management platform. This is normal activity that may not resolve when you click on the link in the activity feed.
