Federally Funded Programs
Title I
Title I is a federally funded supplemental education program that provides financial assistance to improve educational opportunities for children. Funding is based on the number of students in a building who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. Title I funds are designed to help children meet state content and performance standards. At DASD, four elementary schools receive these funds for targeted assistance services to support math instruction for eligible K-5 students.
Parent and Family Engagement
Title I Parent Advisory BoardThe district-wide Parent Advisory Board collaborates with the district to inform decisions regarding Title I program opportunities for students at our Title I schools. It allows parents to become more actively involved in providing the fundamental skills needed to build academic success in math and foster positive home and school relationships.
It takes all of us – parents, students, school – working together to ensure student success.
Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for parent involvement in the Title I program. Parents are invited to participate in the following:
- Title I Parent Night/Literacy Night Events
- Title I Parent Advisory Board
- Title I Parent Survey (for parents of students in Title I buildings)
- Title I Community Survey (for parents of non-Title I buildings, students, and other community members)
