Dr. Louis Chance is the Assistant Superintendent overseeing K-6 programs, including supervision and support of elementary principals and teaching and learning supervisors.  Prior to being named Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Chance served as the District’s Director of Pupil Services for four years. Before joining the administrative team in Downingtown, Dr. Chance served as the Director of Pupil Services in the Avon Grove School District. In addition, Dr. Chance has experience as a consultant and special education administrator with the Chester County Intermediate Unit, a special education teacher at an approved private school, and a private business owner providing in-home consultation to students with disabilities and their families. 

Dr. Chance received his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, letter of eligibility, master’s degree, and supervisor of special education certification from Immaculata University. He earned his bachelor of science degree in psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, Dr. Chance is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, having also completed his certification coursework at Penn State. As a behavior analyst, Dr. Chance has presented on the topics of behavior analysis and transition for adolescents with autism at PaTTAN’s community on transition conference at Penn State University as well as the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Autism Network conference.

Dr. Robert Reed

Dr. Robert Reed is the Assistant Superintendent overseeing 7-12 programs, including supervision and support of secondary principals and teaching and learning supervisors. Dr. Reed's educational background includes a BSED in Biology and MA in Physical Science from West Chester University and principal's certification, Letter of Eligibility and doctorate degree from Immaculata University.  Dr. Reed began his career in the Garnet Valley School District. While at Garnet Valley, Dr. Reed was a biology and environmental science teacher, athletic coach, class sponsor, and Dean of Students. Dr. Reed came to DASD in 2003 and first served as an assistant principal at Lionville Middle School. Four years later, he was tapped as LMS's interim principal for one year before moving to Shamona Creek Elementary School as principal. He was principal for two years before accepting the Director of K-12 Educational Programs. He served in that role for five and half years before being named Assistant Superintendent in February of 2016. 

In his spare time, Dr. Reed enjoys spending time with his family (wife, two sons, and a daughter), exercising, traveling, playing golf, being outdoors, learning and experiencing new things, and all Philadelphia sports teams.
