Parent Mentor Program
Special Education Support
The mission of the DASD Parent Mentor program is to provide support, guidance and information to other parents who have questions about the special education processes and procedures. This may include understanding their child’s IEP, questions about the evaluation process, or connecting with resources.
A Parent Mentor is a DASD parent of a child who receives special education services. Each mentor has received targeted training in special education-related topics and is volunteering their time.
The role of a parent mentor is not to serve as an advocate, attend IEP meetings as a parent representative, or provide legal advice or recommendations.
Please complete the Parent Mentor Referral form so that we can best match your needs to the right parent mentor.
