Federally Funded Programs
Title I is a federally funded supplemental education program that provides financial assistance to improve educational opportunities for children. Funding is based on the number of students in a building who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. Title I funds are designed to help children meet state content and performance standards. At DASD, four elementary schools receive these funds for targeted assistance services to support reading instruction for eligible kindergarten and grade 1 students.
Parent and Family Engagement
Title I Parent Advisory BoardThe district-wide Parent Advisory Board collaborates with the district to inform decisions regarding Title I program opportunities for students at our Title I schools. It allows parents to become more actively involved in providing the fundamental skills needed to build successful readers and foster positive home and school relationships.
It takes all of us – parents, students, school – working together to ensure student success.
Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for parent involvement in the Title I program. Parents are invited to participate in the following:
- Title I Parent Night/Literacy Night
- Title I Parent Advisory Board
- Title I Parent Survey
Registration for this event is CLOSED. Camp Success 2022 will be an in-person summer program for Title I students only.
Title I Camp Success 2022 will be held at Beaver Creek Elementary School from Monday, July 18, 2022 to Thursday, August 4, 2022. Camp is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday of each week. Please look for brochures and registration forms to be distributed by your school in March.
- Complete and return the Title I Camp Success Registration Form to the District Office (Attn: Camp Success, 540 Trestle Place, Downingtown, PA 19335).
- Registration is due before the Tuesday, April 19, 2022 deadline.
- You will receive a confirmation letter and/or email verifying your registration.
