ParentSquare

ParentSquare (PSQ) is Downingtown Area School District’s all-in-one communication platform that strengthens the connection between school and home. It brings messages, updates, and important information into one easy-to-use system.

Families may receive communication through email, text, phone calls, or the PSQ mobile app, helping you stay informed in the way that works best for you.

PSQ will be used for classroom updates, school announcements, district-wide alerts, and other important reminders. This allows us to share timely information in a clear, user-friendly format on your phone, tablet, or computer.

An account is automatically created for each parent or guardian using the contact information in our student information system.

PSQ will replace the following platforms:

• Remind (ending July 31, 2026)
• Blackboard Mass Communication System (ending June 30, 2026)
• TalkingPoints (ending June 30, 2026)
• Smore (ending June 30, 2026)
• ClassDojo (still available for 2026–27)
  • ClassDojo is not being discontinued, at this time. However, PSQ can be used to share classroom updates, photos, and announcements.
• Sign-Ups & Scheduling (PTCfast ending June 30, 2026; Other scheduling tools will remain in place this year)
  • ParentSquare can support these functions, including:
    • Conference scheduling
    • Permission slips and forms
    • Volunteer sign-ups and item contributions
    • Event RSVPs

Over time, different tools were adopted across the district to support specific communication needs. While helpful, this created multiple systems for families and staff to navigate.

PSQ brings all district communication into one platform, making it easier for families, teachers, and students to stay connected and ensuring more consistent communication across DASD.

Activate your ParentSquare account!

1. Open the invitation from ParentSquare in your email or text messages.
2. Click Activate your account or tap the link to go to the account registration page.
3. Enter your email or phone number, then click Get Started. (Optional: You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft.)
4. Check your contact information. If it looks correct, click Confirm. You’ll receive a code by text or email.
5. Enter the verification code when asked.
6. You’ll see your children’s names. Click Confirm next to each child who should be connected to your account. If a child is listed by mistake, click Not my child.

• A name is spelled wrong
• Your email address or phone number is incorrect
• A child is missing from your account

Families with children at multiple schools can change which school they view. Staff members that work at multiple school sites and/or have children at another site may also switch schools.

• From Home, click Switch School in the top left and choose the desired school site.

• Tap the school name at the top to see other schools, and choose the desired school site.

While downloading the PSQ app is not required, the free app makes it easy to stay connected on the go. You can access the same information and communication features in the app as you can in a web browser.

PSQ pulls its information directly from Infinite Campus. To update your information, please make changes in Infinite Campus. If you need help, contact your child’s school secretary.

PSQ alerts will look different from previous DASD communications. Emails will come from a PSQ address and may appear as a combination of letters and numbers followed by @parentsquare.com. Phone calls and text messages will come from a PSQ phone number that may not be saved in your contacts.

These messages are official DASD communications and may include classroom updates, school announcements, district-wide alerts, and emergency notifications such as weather-related delays or school closures.

• The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real-time.
• The Digest setting will send all posts for the day in one single digest at the end of the day (recommended.)

• If you are using the web browser: On your home page, click your name, select “My Account,” then, “Notification Settings.”
• If you are using the mobile app: From your home screen, click the triple bar in the top left corner. Click on “Account,” then “Notifications.”

You can send a message to your child's teacher from Messages by clicking New Message. You can reply to a message from your principal, however, you cannot initiate a message to the principal. To learn more, see View, Send or Reply to a Direct Message.
