DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOLS AND THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Located in Chester County, Pennsylvania, Downingtown Area School District is a suburban residential community with a thriving business district. Currently, the District serves 13,000 students and has three high schools: Downingtown High School East, Downingtown High School West, and the STEM Academy. The Downingtown Community holds their athletic program in high regard and are among the most supportive fan bases in the state!
ACADEMICS
The Downingtown Area School District offers students the choice to enroll in one of our two comprehensive high schools, Downingtown East and Downingtown West or the opportunity to attend the Downingtown STEM Academy. All three high schools, routinely rank among the best schools in the country. The STEM Academy is widely regarded as the top high school in the state of Pennsylvania, offering students the rigorous International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Downingtown East and Downingtown West are consistently ranked among the best in the state, offering a highly rigorous program of study that includes over 60 Honors and Advanced Placement courses. A student’s program of study largely depends on the individual student’s goals and objectives and can be highly customizable. Vocational career opportunities for seniors include early graduation and early college acceptance programs, career and work-based experiences, along with field study opportunities. The high schools also have dual enrollment agreements with Delaware Community College, Temple University, Immaculata University, Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Pittsburgh. Graduates from the Downingtown Area School District gain admittance into some of the most competitive schools in the United States, earning thousands of dollars in scholarship and student aid packages from these prestigious institutions. Our Coaches, Teachers, Administrators, and School Counselors are ready and eager to assist you in getting to the next level as a student-athlete.
ATHLETICS
The Downingtown Area School District boosts an athletics program that produces highly competitive programs within the Ches-Mont League, throughout the state of Pennsylvania, and across the country. DASD sponsors 29 varsity, interscholastic athletic programs for student-athletes to compete in grades 9- 12. Downingtown Athletics standards of Environment, Experience and Excellence are the cornerstones of our programs, which focuses on the whole student and instills such ideals as integrity, self-worth, competitive spirit, sportsmanship, teamwork, and GRIT. DASD graduates gain acceptance and admission to some of the finest Ivy and Patriot League schools, as well as some of the top Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 institutions across the country.

ENVIRONMENT, EXPERIENCE AND EXCELLENCE
Downingtown Athletics has a rich and storied tradition of successful teams and top level student-athletes. Our staff is focused on building meaningful relationships with student athletes, families and the entire school community. All of our staff has been training in building meaningful relationships, including Signs of Suicide Training and provide with an action plan to help support individuals who may be struggling or for whom they have concerns. Downingtown takes great pride in the facilities and programs and is committed to providing new and innovative programs for our student-athletes and school community. Our stadiums and turf field complexes are second to none. Both Downingtown East and Downingtown West have completely renovated gymnasiums and state of the art equipment in the weight room and cardio rooms.
