Red Ribbon Week, observed each year in October, promotes awareness of substance use prevention and wellness for students and families. This year, Downingtown Area School District is recognizing Red Ribbon Week in our secondary schools and sixth grade center, while also providing valuable audio and video resources for families, in partnership with Communities that Care (CTC) of Greater Downingtown.

During Red Ribbon Week, schools organized a variety of recognitions to promote substance use prevention and wellness. Activities vary by school and include wearing red, signing the red ribbon pledge, wearing red ribbon bracelets, participating in red-themed Trick-or-Treat events, meeting ROCKY, the CTC mascot, attending visits from Caron Treatment Center, and other school-specific events.
