Downingtown Area School District (DASD) hosted award-winning journalist Tracy Davidson at Downingtown High School East (DHSE) on Monday, March 2, 2026, for a Women’s History Month event focused on the power of resilience. The free, public event welcomed students, staff, and community members who gathered to hear her stories and insights firsthand.

During her presentation, Rise Stronger: Building Real World Resilience, Davidson shared how her experiences taught her to transform adversity into strength, emphasizing the importance of focusing on what matters most and embracing one’s authentic self.

Encouraging attendees to reframe failure as part of growth, Davidson explained that “taking chances builds confidence, and the only thing that keeps us from taking chances is fear of failure — but failure is just the wrong puzzle piece.” She added that once people move past that fear, “a whole new world can open up to us.”

Davidson is a former NBC10 News anchor and investigative consumer reporter with more than 30 years of broadcasting experience. She is a 15-time Emmy Award winner, TEDx speaker, resilience and leadership presenter, breast cancer survivor, and advocate for women and girls.

The event was coordinated by Jynelle Sass, a teacher at DHSE, in collaboration with district staff. Reflecting on the importance of highlighting resilience during Women’s History Month, Sass shared that “resilience will keep you pushing toward success, and I believe it has an impact on all ages.”

The visit highlighted DASD’s commitment to celebrating Women’s History Month and providing students with opportunities to learn from inspiring community leaders.
