Student Involvement

Group of four students.
What does Student Involvement Look Like at DASD?

At DASD, student involvement goes beyond the classroom. Our students participate in a wide range of activities, sports, arts, and community programs that help them explore their interests, build new skills, and connect with peers and the community. Whether in school or in local organizations, these opportunities help students grow, discover their passions, and make a positive impact.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, participation in extracurricular activities is linked to key indicators of student success, including consistent attendance, stronger academic achievement, and aspirations to continue education beyond high school. Through these experiences, DASD fosters a sense of belonging, encourages meaningful connections, and helps students develop the skills and confidence they need to pursue their passions and prepare for the future.

By the Numbers: Student Involvement at DASDThis data comes from the 2025-2026 Student Engagement Survey of grades 6-12. A total of 3,873 out of 7,576 students completed the survey.

Do you participate in any extracurricular or after-school activities?
