Kindergarten JumpStart

DCEF Logo Inspire, Engage, Enrich

There is strong research demonstrating that readiness in Kindergarten ensures long-term success in school. Skills like following directions, managing emotions and getting along with others, in addition to pre-reading and number skills, have long-term implications for future success in school and in life.

DCEF partners with DASD principals and Kindergarten teachers to bring Kdg JumpStart to all incoming kindergarteners. Students will have the opportunity to have a "jumpstart" on their kindergarten experience, meet their teacher, get comfortable with school routines and make new friends!

Thanks to a grant from CCRES along with OT and Speech support from Austill's Educational Therapy Services and the CCIU, DCEF is able to bring Kdg JumpStart to incoming kindergarteners in all 10 elementary schools.
