Downingtown Community Education Foundation
INSPIRING STUDENTS, ENGAGING TEACHERS AND ENRICHING OUR COMMUNITY TO CREATE A BETTER TOMORROW
DCEF is dedicated to inspiring, engaging, and enriching the Downingtown Area School District community by providing innovative educational programs and services to all 13,000+ students. DCEF was formed in 2008 to provide non-tax generated funding necessary to further the district's mission to educate all children to meet the challenges of a global society. DCEF unites various constituencies within the community – students and teachers, parents and alumni, businesses and community groups. We believe that strong schools and school districts lead to strong, vibrant communities.
DCEF works in partnership with, but financially independent, of DASD to provide supplemental funds for programs, grants and scholarships typically not funded by district. DCEF is governed by an all-volunteer board of community leaders who are passionate about public education and committed to DASD student success. An Executive Director, the DASD Superintendent, and one School Board Director serve as ex-officio members of the board.
Explore, experience and learn through fun, hands-on programs after school and during the summer that combine technical knowledge and skills with creativity.

Ways to Support
inspiring STUDENTs, engaging teachers, enriching our community
While no one can do everything, DCEF believes that everyone can do something to help enrich the educational experience of DASD students and create a thriving community. Donors have a variety of options for sharing financial gifts. Donations are tax deductible, and contributions stay within the district.
Through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, a qualified business can make a gift to an EITC qualified organization like DCEF rather than pay a percentage of its state taxes.
