This page should explain the various levels of security DASD uses: Below is what BCPS has as logos and explanations.
BCPS approach to tools for learning and student privacyLevel 1 Tool:
Tools that are essential to curriculum and are under contract with BCPS.Level 2 Tool
Access to this tool does not require any user to share information about themselves.
No data is shared:Level 2 Tool
Student accounts do not require any Pll or directory information.
Non-Pll:Level 2 Tool
Student accounts require only directory information or directory information with non-Pll.
Directory information only:
Tool may not be used by students whose parents have opted out of sharing directory information.Level 2 Tool
Student accounts require only directory information or directory information with non-Pll.
Directory information with guidance:
Guidance: Users must not provide optional information requested by the application.
Tool may not be used by students whose parents have opted out of sharing directory information.NOTE: Reference to the school board policy: BCPS assesses the level of student data privacy for every approved tool with which our students interact. For more information on BCPS’ Policy on directory information, see BCPS Policy and Rule 5230 section XI.
NOTE: BCPS lists, with images, all the digital tools the district uses and assigns them a 'level' for parent information.

Each tile gives the title of the tool, the grade ranges of users, a brief description, and an icon with a description of what, if any, student data is shared by using the tool.
