Welcome to the DASD Student Technology Assistance Center (STAC) home page. Our goal here at STAC is to help students tackle any and all digital issues they may have. What makes STAC special is that the help, suggestions, and guidance are provided by our DASD students! Please contact us with any questions you may have, our emails are always open! Check the Hours of Operations tab to see when you can contact us online or in person.
First, make sure you are trying to connect to the right network. On Macs, the Wi-Fi icon is at the top right of the screen, whereas on PCs, the icon is at the bottom right. You want to click the icon and choose network that says DASD-BYOD. To join, you will need to type your DASD username and password. If it doesn't work, try logging on again. If neither of those work, there is another network called DASD-Guest. You can use this one as well.
All laptops work a bit differently from each other. A good first step is making sure that your device is either fully charged or plugged into a power source. Next, you want to press down your power button. Make sure to hold it fow about 1-2 seconds. For Macs, it is on the top right of the keyboard, but for PCs it is on the top center or right side. Press it gently, because hitting it too hard could cause damage to the device. Do not press it repeatedly, one will do.
