Weather Emergency Information

  • Our intention this winter is to keep our schools open and on schedule as much as possible.  Living in the Northeast brings its challenges, but we do plan to adhere to the academic schedule as much as possible and will not call a delay or closing unless our transportation experts feel it is unsafe for buses to safely transport students to school.

You, of course, have the final say on whether your child rides the school bus on a snowy, winter’s morning, however, please remember that it is 50 times safer for a child to ride a school bus than to be driven to school by a parent, friend or themselves. (The US Department of Transportation).

The decision to delay or close schools is made between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. in the morning because of our early high school runs.  If you do not receive a phone call, or see the news on the local TV stations, our website, Facebook pages by 6:00 a.m., you will know that school is on and we are gearing up for the day.

Thanks very much for your understanding, dress warmly, drive safely if you must drive, and let’s hope this winter provides smooth sailing into spring.
