• Music and math go hand in hand - students need to know the value of each note, and how each note compares to another (i.e. 4 quarter notes equals one whole note). Students need to be able to do simple math when composing their own pieces using 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures.  Music is also all about patterns and sequences, which is part of the math curriculum, and can reinforce those concepts taught in the regular education classroom.
