It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of of Uwchlan Hills Art teacher Krissy (Christine) Krygiel-Evans. Krissy became ill shortly after school began this morning and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. She passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Krissy had worked as a teacher in the district for 27.5 years. Krissy attended Moore College of Art and Design, University of the Arts, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She started teaching art in the Downingtown Area School District in 1991. She first taught at East Ward Elementary School before joining the faculty at Uwchlan Hills in 2009.
Krissy leaves behind her husband, Steven, daughter Lauren (15), and sons Mark (14), Andrew (12) and Scott (11).
We are all extremely heartbroken about Krissy. She signed everything with a heart. Her abundant joy in teaching and love of art will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
We ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Guidance counselors will be available at Uwchlan Hlills tomorrow for any student or staff member needing support.
