Our intention this winter is to keep our schools open and on
schedule as much as possible. Living in the Northeast brings its
challenges, but we do plan to adhere to the academic schedule as much as
possible and will not call a delay or closing unless our transportation experts
feel it is unsafe for buses to safely transport students to school.
You, of course, have the final say on whether your child
rides the school bus on a snowy, winter’s morning, however, please remember
that it is 50 times safer for a child to ride a school bus than to be driven to
school by a parent, friend or themselves. (The US Department of
The decision to delay or close schools is made between 4:30
and 5:00 a.m. in the morning because of our early high school runs. If
you do not receive a phone call, or see the news on the local TV stations, our
website, Facebook pages by 6:00 a.m., you will know that school is on and we
are gearing up for the day.
